Job description

S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) Analyst

Summary

Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the S&OP Analyst will manage our demand planning processes to support the S&OP journey. They will collaborate with commercial teams to ensure that the demand plan released to Supply Planning accurately reflects the business forecasts.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Develop, integrate, and report on forecasts for sales and operations planning, including replenishment data, sales activity, marketing plans, capacity planning, and product additions/deletions.
  2. Improve demand forecasting accuracy by selecting appropriate models and algorithms for statistical forecasts.
  3. Maintain and manage product history, accurate forecasting, and promotional demand.
  4. Analyze demand stream information and categorize according to demand patterns.
  5. Align sales and marketing intelligence with each business unit for forecasting, working with sales, marketing, and supply chain analysts.
  6. Collaborate with business partners to ensure the demand plan reflects business forecasts, considering launches, phase-outs, growth rates, and revenue ratios.
  7. Leverage support from marketing and sales to shape the demand plan.
  8. Support the generation of reports and analyses used in S&OP.
  9. Identify and communicate exception-based issues, such as month-over-month changes and demand vs. financial projections, through compelling presentations for decision-making.
  10. Continuously seek process improvements and lead related projects.
  11. Manage aged inventory discussions, action plans, and progress tracking with stakeholders.
  12. Analyze inventory levels against forecasts and manage inventory classification per policies.
  13. Establish financial metrics for business lines, such as inventory metrics and GMROI, to measure carrying costs.

Travel

Some travel within Canada and/or the US may be required once or twice a year.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent work experience.
  2. Experience in demand planning or forecasting in a distributor, manufacturer, or retail environment.
  3. CPIM / CSCP certification (or equivalent).
  4. Knowledge of S&OP, demand planning, and replenishment processes.
  5. Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and related tools.
  6. Experience with JD Edwards and other ERP/forecasting systems.
