S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) Analyst
Summary
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the S&OP Analyst will manage our demand planning processes to support the S&OP journey. They will collaborate with commercial teams to ensure that the demand plan released to Supply Planning accurately reflects the business forecasts.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and report on forecasts for sales and operations planning, including replenishment data, sales activity, marketing plans, capacity planning, and product additions/deletions.
- Improve demand forecasting accuracy by selecting appropriate models and algorithms for statistical forecasts.
- Maintain and manage product history, accurate forecasting, and promotional demand.
- Analyze demand stream information and categorize according to demand patterns.
- Align sales and marketing intelligence with each business unit for forecasting, working with sales, marketing, and supply chain analysts.
- Collaborate with business partners to ensure the demand plan reflects business forecasts, considering launches, phase-outs, growth rates, and revenue ratios.
- Leverage support from marketing and sales to shape the demand plan.
- Support the generation of reports and analyses used in S&OP.
- Identify and communicate exception-based issues, such as month-over-month changes and demand vs. financial projections, through compelling presentations for decision-making.
- Continuously seek process improvements and lead related projects.
- Manage aged inventory discussions, action plans, and progress tracking with stakeholders.
- Analyze inventory levels against forecasts and manage inventory classification per policies.
- Establish financial metrics for business lines, such as inventory metrics and GMROI, to measure carrying costs.
Travel
Some travel within Canada and/or the US may be required once or twice a year.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in demand planning or forecasting in a distributor, manufacturer, or retail environment.
- CPIM / CSCP certification (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of S&OP, demand planning, and replenishment processes.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and related tools.
- Experience with JD Edwards and other ERP/forecasting systems.
