About The Role

Reporting to the Director of Quality, the Quality Shopfloor Specialist is responsible for fulfilling the quality management system requirements, monitoring and achieving the quality targets of the production unit, and working on internal/external quality problems with cross-functional teams. This includes activities such as production process approvals, requalification for production, and process quality analyses.

This is a temporary flex hybrid model, requiring 2 days in the St. Thomas office, with flexibility as needed. It will eventually transition to full-time onsite.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensuring that the company quality management system requirements are met.
  2. Ensuring the fulfillment of customer-specific requirements and automotive quality standards regarding product quality.
  3. Reporting and publishing quality targets and performance metrics, and informing responsible persons within the production unit.
  4. Implementing process quality analyses and reporting (First time quality, scrap, rework, internal/external sorting).
  5. Leading quality improvement activities and processes by analyzing process quality data.
  6. Supporting risk assessments of nonconforming products and coordinating blocking and releasing actions.
  7. Leading implementation of statistical process control (SPC) tools within the production unit.
  8. Coordinating cross-functional teams for problem solving related to internal and external quality issues.
  9. Defining and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  10. Coordinating quality workshops for operational quality tasks.
  11. Planning and monitoring periodic inspections (product audits, process audits, 5S audits).
  12. Supporting activities related to control plans, requalification, process approvals, and customer documents.
  13. Supporting the Quality Ramp-Up process at other PowerCo Gigafactories (Spain and Germany).
  14. Preparing for customer and internal/external quality audits and implementing necessary actions.
  15. Participating in continuous improvement activities and following up on action plans.
  16. Participating in PFMEA studies and supporting the implementation of changes.
What You Bring To The Team
  1. University degree in Chemical, Production, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience in a technical role.
  2. 5+ years of relevant experience in automotive or lithium battery production.
  3. Familiarity with IATF 16949, VDA, Customer Specific Requirements, and Automotive Quality Core Tools (PPAP, MSA, APQP, SPC, FMEA).
  4. Knowledge of problem-solving tools.
  5. Internal auditor certification is highly desired.
  6. Ability to travel for extended periods to support ramp-up at other PowerCo gigafactories (Spain and Germany).
