Your Opportunity :

Reporting to the Health Information Management Supervisor, the Registration, Switchboard, & Patient Information (RSPI) Clerk is responsible for Patient Registration, Switchboard, Finance, and Health Record functions. The RSPI Administrative Support III maintains the integrity of the health record through retrieving, preparing, scanning paper records to the Electronic Clinical Information System, and auditing scanned records. The position responds to telephone requests for access and disclosure in accordance with department, zone, and legislative requirements. Responsibilities include interviewing and registering patients using the health care information system (Connect Care), collecting and verifying demographic information, insurance, financial data, and other forms. Additional duties involve reception, applying identification wristbands, providing wayfinding, creating unique identifiers for non-residents, and other clerical tasks supporting registration. The role also includes operating the switchboard, directing calls, greeting clients, monitoring security, and providing information to care providers. Financial duties such as receiving payments, safeguarding accounts, and assisting with trust accounts may also be part of the role.

Details : As per location; not multi-site; FTE: 0.65; Posting end date: 16-MAY-2025; Employee class: Regular Part-Time; Available from: 26-MAY-2025; Hours per shift: 5.0 or 7.75; Shifts per cycle: 27; Shift pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends; Days off: as per rotation; Salary range: $23.53 to $28.60; Vehicle requirement: Not applicable.

Required Qualifications :

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications :

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent (testing will be conducted).
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills of at least 40 wpm (testing will be conducted).

Preferred Qualifications :

  • MOA, Unit Clerk Course or equivalent.
  • Experience in Patient Registration, Financial Records, and Telecommunication.
