We are currently hiring a Research Mobilization (RM) Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Research & Impact Unit, the overarching duties of the RM specialist are to enhance the accessibility and application of our research findings. This role will focus on translating complex research into actionable insights, fostering connections between research outcomes and decision-makers, and ensuring Indigenous communities' voices and needs are central to knowledge-sharing efforts. The Specialist will play a key role in advancing Indspire’s research impact by creating strategies that bridge research, practice, and policy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Research Translation and Dissemination
    • Translating research findings into user-friendly formats such as reports, policy briefs, infographics, toolkits, and presentations tailored for different audiences, including educators, policymakers, and community leaders.
    • Ensuring all mobilization efforts align with Indigenous perspectives, values, and knowledge systems.
    • Developing and implementing innovative strategies for disseminating research findings across digital platforms, conferences, and community events.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
    • Collaborating with Indigenous communities, researchers, educators, and policymakers to co-develop knowledge mobilization strategies that respond to their needs and priorities.
    • Acting as a liaison between the Research and Impact Unit and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and application of research findings.
    • Building partnerships with academic institutions, governmental agencies, and Indigenous organizations to amplify research reach and impact.
  3. Capacity Building and Support
    • Designing and delivering workshops, webinars, and presentations to empower stakeholders in using research findings for decision-making and practices.
    • Providing training and support to Indspire staff on research mobilization best practices.
  4. Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
    • Developing and tracking metrics to evaluate mobilization success, gathering feedback to refine approaches.
    • Staying informed about emerging trends and integrating best practices into strategies.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • A degree in education, social sciences, communications, or related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in research mobilization, knowledge translation, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities, scholars, or organizations.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong communication skills, capable of synthesizing and presenting complex research clearly for diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous ways of knowing, research ethics, and cultural protocols, including familiarity with the First Nations Principles of OCAP.
  • Proficiency with digital tools for creating dissemination materials (e.g., data visualization, infographic software).
  • Excellent project management skills, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
