Position Summary
This position performs clerical and physical duties related to a Transit Fleet parts warehouse operation such as order, receives, delivers, issues and keeps computerized records on a variety of supplies and materials. This position reports to the Transit & Fleet Parts Storekeeper.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure all required parts are in stock or on order to meet operational demands.
- Issue and distribute parts and materials to technicians accurately and promptly.
- Verify incoming shipments against invoices, delivery slips, or purchase orders.
- Receive, issue, and track both stock and non-stock items using a computerized inventory system.
- Organize materials and supplies in designated storage areas, bins, or shelving units.
- Prepare bin tags and labels for easy identification of incoming goods.
- Load, unload, and transfer materials within the warehouse safely and efficiently.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and update records accordingly.
- Pick stock to fulfill internal orders and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall upkeep of the fleet parts warehouse.
- Operate vehicles such as pick-up trucks and forklifts for deliveries and internal movement of parts.
- Process warranty claims for new parts in accordance with procedures.
- Follow all safety protocols outlined by the Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act and the City of Regina’s Occupational Health and Safety Manual.
- Act as the Parts Storekeeper when required and other related duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications
- Completion of a Journeyperson Parts Certificate, combined with an additional one (1) year of experience in purchasing, receiving and issuing in computerized transportation equipment fleet parts or parts store operation.
- Solid understanding of fleet parts warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and issuing supplies per established procedures.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with the M5 Fleet Focus system.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations as outlined in the Provincial Act, City of Regina Safety Manual, WHMIS, and MSDS.
- Skilled in using online, CD-based, and paper-based parts manuals to identify and source parts accurately.
- Strong ability to follow and interpret both oral and written instructions.
- Capable of accurately maintaining records related to fleet parts inventory and transactions.
- Effective team player with the ability to contribute in a collaborative, quality-focused work environment.
- Experience processing purchase orders using Oracle Financial or similar systems.
- Competent in managing inventory through computerized systems such as M5 Fleet Focus or equivalent platforms.
Working/Other Conditions
- May be required to work varying shifts and rotating weekends.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must possess or be able to obtain certification as a forklift operator and a WHMIS certificate.
- Physical working conditions involve prolonged standing or sitting, frequent overhead reaching, and regular lifting, carrying, or moving objects up to 50 pounds on hard surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, and metal stairs.
- Possible environmental conditions include exposure to diesel exhaust, dust, soaps, chemicals, and diesel or lubrication products.

- Successful candidates may be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check per the City of Regina's Criminal Record Check Policy.
- Proof of education is required.
