Job description

Our Security Guards are offered employment in a dynamic role in one of the most unique work environments that BC has to offer. This customer-facing role has the crucial responsibility of making our passengers feel safe and secure as they travel from coast to coast.

The Day to Day:

As a Security Guard working with us on our Ferries contract at Duke Point and Departure Bay, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of both the terminal and onboard vessels, creating a secure environment for passengers. Acting as a visible deterrent, you will make a difference by engaging with the public to provide assistance and direction, delivering exceptional customer service throughout coast-to-coast travel, performing unlock/lock-up checks and related security procedures, and managing various communication channels, including radio and incident escalations. Additionally, you will actively identify and report safety hazards, contributing to the overall well-being and satisfaction of our passengers.

What you bring:

  • BC Security License
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Comfort working independently and in varying weather conditions
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Physically capable of standing and walking for a duration of 8 hours

Availability:

We offer a range of shifts and availabilities, including days and overnights, and offer full-time, part-time or on-call employment opportunities.

Compensation:

$21/hr for shifts worked at DEP (Departure Bay)

$22/hr for shifts worked at DUK (Duke Point)
