The GME Coordinator performs work independently with assignments from the Program Manager. Key responsibilities include coordinating and scheduling in person resident seminars twice per week, organizing major residency events including graduation and orientation and actively participating in the resident recruitment process including attendance at recruitment fairs and coordination of applicant interviews.
This position coordinates and contributes to the development and implementation of the administrative activities of the residency program as outlined in the accreditation program requirements and other regulatory agencies. The GME Coordinator must utilize fundamental knowledge of these requirements to manage workflow components of the administrative and professional responsibilities for the program's residents. This position will serve as a liaison between the Program Manager, Program Director, residents/fellows, program faculty, institutional Graduate Medical Education (GME) office, and affiliated teaching sites concerning program matters.

- Experience working in an academic health care health education setting preferred.
- Experience with reviewing and/or maintaining budgets or financial information preferred.
- Experience with event or meeting planning and coordination preferred.
- Experience with project/program management preferred.

- A successful record of project administration, decision-making and problem-solving techniques, strong writing and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team-based environment.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

The starting salary for the position is $63,126 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

The University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is a large, tier-one clinical department in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH). UW DFMCH has 171 faculty, 261 adjunct faculty, and 110 staff located throughout the state.
