Closing the Gap Healthcare (CTG) is dedicated to providing Canadians with the highest level of care across a wide range of home and community settings.

We are seeking an NSWOC Nurse who is comfortable providing care to our clients. The ideal candidate will thrive in a caring culture, demonstrating flexibility, strong critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. We have part-time and casual positions available based out of Mississauga, Halton, GTA, Central, and Dufferin areas.

What you will be doing :

Our healthcare team delivers care to thousands of clients daily, helping them meet their healthcare needs and enhance their well-being, with a caring approach akin to caring for loved ones.

  • Assist clients with wound, ostomy, and continence care, enabling them to remain in their homes and communities.
  • Provide and manage high-quality, appropriate nursing care for individuals with skin integrity issues related to wounds, ostomies, and continence.
  • Follow provincial regulatory standards and practice guidelines to perform safe, evidence-based nursing care within your scope of practice.
  • Assess, plan, collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare team members to establish and update care plans, and evaluate client care during each encounter, providing clinical advocacy.
  • Assess clients for suitability of virtual consultations.

Skills needed for success :

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in wound, ostomy, and continence care (NSWOC) from a recognized institution, or completion of a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) program, or having completed 75% of the NSWOC certification.
  • Previous community or acute care experience focusing on wound care is preferred.
  • Highly organized with excellent scheduling management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Minimum of two years’ community or clinical/hospital experience preferred.
  • Currently certified as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the CNO.
  • Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C certification.
  • Possession of a current Mask Fit test is a plus.
