Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCareer Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Head of Engineering - Blockchain - this is a fully remote position in US/Canada.We are a VC-backed on-chain financial infrastructure company upgrading financial markets through 24/7 instant settlement. Our mission is to bridge traditional finance (TradFi) assets and decentralized finance (DeFi) in a transparent, efficient, and highly scalable way, ultimately replatforming all of financial markets on 10x better infrastructure in the form of blockchain.

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Engineering to lead our architectural design, technical development, and shape the future of our engineering function.

This pivotal role will guide the evolution of our core product, an RWA liquidity protocol, from v1 on Ethereum testnet into a scalable, multi-asset, multi-chain network, enabling us to deliver foundational infrastructure in the nascent by fast-growing on-chain financial markets space. In time, this role will lead the design and development of new products as our offering grows.

You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and collaborating closely with product, security, compliance, and business stakeholders. This is a high-impact role requiring deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering best-in-class DeFi solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership & Strategy

   • Technical ownership of the company’s flagship smart contract protocol and associated infrastructure, including architecture, development and roadmap.

   • Oversee architecture decisions and implementation related to EVM-based and Solana-based deployments.

   • Drive platform reliability, scalability, and performance.

   • Oversee new product development from a technical perspective.

2. Smart Contract Development & Integration

   • Lead the team in designing, deploying, and auditing smart contracts that integrate tokenized assets and stablecoins.

   • Define technical standards and best practices to ensure secure smart contract development.

   • Implement and maintain reliable price oracle/price feed solutions for NAV-based swaps.

   • Scope and deliver protocol integrations with new tokenized assets and stablecoins.

3. Team Management & Mentorship

   • Build and manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional growth.

   • Implement best-in-class engineering practices (e.g., Agile methodologies, CI/CD, code reviews) to drive high-quality output.

   • Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to align engineering priorities with company objectives.

4. Regulatory & Security Compliance

   • Work with the compliance team to address regulatory requirements for integrating tokenized securities and stablecoins.

   • Implement robust security processes, including smart contract audits, incident response procedures, and thorough risk assessments.

   • Stay updated on relevant DeFi and regulatory developments to ensure the protocol remains cutting-edge and compliant.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

   • Partner with product, design, and business development teams to integrate user feedback into technical solutions.

   • Represent engineering in executive-level discussions, providing clear updates on progress, challenges, and overall direction.

   • Cultivate relationships with external partners (exchanges, stablecoin issuers, custodians, etc.) to enhance protocol integrations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams with diverse skillsets.

  • Demonstrable experience delivering production-grade blockchain or DeFi products.

  • Familiarity or hands-on experience with Solana development (Rust-based smart contracts).

• Technical Proficiency

  • In-depth knowledge of Ethereum smart contract development (Solidity, EVM).

  • Proven track record building across multiple leading Layer-1s or Layer-2s.

  • Experience integrating with tokenized assets, stablecoins and DeFi protocols and/or exchanges (AMMs, DEXs, CEXs, lending markets, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of cryptographic principles, data structures, and distributed systems.

  • Familiarity with secure coding practices, auditing procedures, and formal verification.

• Leadership & Communication

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor an engineering team in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Effective stakeholder management, able to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business decisions.
