Job description

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Director, Mental Health Services, the successful candidate will be part of the adult mental health services team, responsible for providing services to adults with severe, acute, or persistent mental illness. The role involves delivering clinical services in both hospital and community settings, ensuring continuity of care across all phases, offering consultation and education to community agencies, participating in service development, and representing mental health services on various committees.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN.
  • Graduation from a recognized nursing program.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience dealing with adult mental health issues.
  • Understanding of mental health issues related to the adult mentally ill, available programs, and their functions.
  • A valid driver's license.

  • Knowledge of mental health assessment, treatment methodologies, intervention strategies, and community dynamics.
  • Clinical expertise across a range of adult mental disorders.
  • Understanding of linkages with community groups and government agencies.
