The Opportunity

The Personal Support Worker is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in identifying resident needs. The role involves maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

What Is In It For You

  • Monitor care provided to residents, ensuring it aligns with care plans, by observing and reporting findings to your supervisor.
  • Assist in documenting resident care information as directed.
  • Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.
  • Assist in onboarding new staff members as directed.
  • Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.

What You Will Need

  • Graduate of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate / Diploma Program.
  • Meet the vocational standards set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
  • Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
  • Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.
  • Knowledge of procedures and techniques for administering basic treatments and bedside care.
  • Understanding of good sanitation and cleanliness practices.
  • Knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents.
