The Role

We seek an expert in fisheries and aquatic science to lead project delivery within our global Environment and Sustainability practice. You will manage key client relationships, exercise business development skills, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex environmental challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and grow revenue in our environmental consulting practice, focusing on fisheries and aquatics.
  2. Manage projects requiring DFO Fisheries Act Authorizations, offsetting planning, and permit applications.
  3. Identify and develop new business opportunities in mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
  4. Provide technical leadership, peer reviews, and advice within the practice.
  5. Coordinate environmental deliverables and ensure quality standards.
  6. Mentor and lead project teams, and participate in resource planning.
  7. Collaborate with global teams and support stakeholder engagement.
  8. Develop future environmental leaders within Hatch.
Candidate Profile
  • Post-secondary degree in aquatic environmental sciences, marine or aquatic biology, or related fields.
  • 10-15+ years managing fisheries and aquatics projects in major sectors.
  • Deep understanding of impact assessments, permitting, and regulations across Canada and internationally.
  • Certifications such as CAN-CISEC and MTO RAQs preferred.
  • Proven business development skills and client engagement experience.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate effectively.
  • Experience with EPCM projects and willingness to travel.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for high-quality deliverables.
