Teledyne Gas & Flame is seeking a Vice President of Sales for Gas & Flame Detection for the Americas. The position will be based at Teledyne Detcon in Cypress, TX.

Teledyne Gas & Flame is seeking a Vice President of Sales for Gas & Flame Detection – Americas, providing strategic leadership and direction to drive revenue and margin growth, to expand market penetration, to develop new business opportunities and to ensure customer satisfaction. This role requires a deep understanding of gas detection and instrumentation technologies, strong commercial skills and the ability to understand the regulatory requirements of the market. The VP of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, for managing key customer relationships, and for developing a high-performing sales team.
The appointed candidate will be responsible for revenue and profit growth of the entire Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection portfolio in the Americas, leading and managing a dedicated and qualified field sales team and application specialists through strong leadership and motivational skills, market and product knowledge, coaching, communicating Teledyne’s values, goals and successfully executing company strategy.
The successful candidate will join the Teledyne Gas & Flame Group, working in close co-operation with the global Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Engineering teams while directly supervising the America’s Gas & Flame Portable & Fixed Gas Detection sales team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Demonstrate expertise in gas detection and instrumentation technologies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
Mentor and develop a high-performing sales team.
Contribute to all strategic planning sessions.
DESIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business-related discipline or at least 15 years of directly related experience in sales and business development, preferably in the gas detection or instrument business
Strong technical knowledge of gas detection and instrumentation technologies.
Travel is required and expected to be 40% to 60% per year.
