Job description

At Plan Group, we work on landmark projects that push the boundaries of what's possible. As the Technology contractor, we are expanding our team and seeking a driven OSP Splicer to work on-site in Vancouver, BC.

This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, working alongside a talented team on a significant project.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Prep and fusion splice various types and sizes of fiber optic cables, including loose tube and ribbon cable.
  • Install both aerial and underground splice enclosures and other closures used in fiber optic splicing and termination.
  • Perform bi-directional OTDR testing and power meter testing.
  • Install and dress fiber optic cables.
  • Read prints and understand splice instructions.
  • Maintain attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Perform manual labor tasks, often in tight spaces.
  • Climb and work at heights using ladders or aerial lift trucks.
  • Use hand and power tools effectively.
  • Lift objects weighing over 50 pounds.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Wear appropriate safety gear and follow safety procedures.
  • Adapt to industrial work site safety requirements.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to travel for extended periods and work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Pass Fit for Duty, Drug, and Alcohol testing.
