We are looking for a Saskatchewan Land Surveyor to support our municipal survey operations in Regina. Daily attendance at the Regina office is preferred; however, working remotely may be considered.

APPLICANT MUST BE LEGALLY AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN CANADA. Validation of eligibility will be required if selected for an interview.

Working under the direct supervision of the Office Manager, the Land Surveyor plans, organizes, and directs the work of one or more survey parties engaged in surveying, directs and controls land surveying services related to measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles, or other purposes such as researching previous survey evidence, maps, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys. This position also interacts directly with clients and is responsible for developing and promoting strong client relationships.

Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  1. Abides by the Land Surveyors code of ethics and professionalism; upholds legal responsibility for the work, to the public, government, and survey profession.
  2. Manages all aspects of survey projects including job costing, evaluation, and invoicing procedures.
  3. Capable of managing any survey projects.
  4. Provides leadership in professionalism, ethics, evidence evaluation, survey methodology, error identification, evaluation, and removal.
  5. Determines methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey monumentation and develops insight into how improvements can be made on future endeavors.
  6. Coordinates findings with work of field crews, Geomatics Technicians, other Land Surveyors, office personnel, clients, and others involved in the project.
  7. Maintains accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed.
  8. Fosters excellent relationships with clients and business associates.
  9. Acts as a contact lead for the Company and Project Management for our clients.
  10. Participates in leadership capacity on committees as well as office and company governance.
  11. Strives for excellence in developing survey products, as well as ways to improve customer service and company profitability.
  12. Provides continuous interaction with clients on projects and maintains strong relationships with them.

What You Offer:

  1. A Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. SLS commission (or a commission from another province); consideration given to articled pupils in Saskatchewan.
  3. At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  4. Active and in good standing with Land Surveying Associations and professional jurisdictions.
  5. Thorough familiarity with municipal development surveys.
  6. Experience with Project Management.
  7. Proven supervisory skills.
  8. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
