Job description

Over the past 60+ years, A. J. Clarke and Associates has attracted private land development clients and builders through providing Civil (Municipal) Engineering, Professional Planning, and Survey services. A. J. Clarke is a division of TULLOCH, a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm recognized Canada-wide for its diverse service offerings and commitment to excellence.

Based in Hamilton, the Water Resources Engineer will report to the Manager of Engineering and will have a wide range of duties focusing on stormwater management. You will be part of a team that offers services to private and government sector clients throughout the Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara regions and beyond.

What You'll Do :
  1. Complete, check, and review technical deliverables including reports, technical notes, drawings, and engineering calculations.
  2. Prepare plans, proposals, specifications, supporting documents, reports, and permit applications.
  3. Develop site plan preparation documents including site services, grading, drainage, and stormwater management in a team setting.
  4. Manage water management projects such as stormwater management, sewer design, drainage and hydrology, wastewater conveyance, potable water distribution, earthworks, transportation, and cost estimation.
  5. Supervise junior engineering and design staff, providing mentorship and direction.
  6. Prepare preliminary and final designs for linear infrastructure, roads, and streets.
  7. Draft plans for site servicing, grading, drainage, and subdivision agreements.
  8. Design onsite sewage disposal systems and private water supplies.
  9. Liaise with clients, build client relations, and support business development.
What You Should Bring :
  • P.Eng. licence (required)
  • 8+ years of relevant water resources engineering experience
  • Significant experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Proficiency in stormwater management software such as MIDUSS, PCSWMM, and HEC-RAS
  • Strong understanding of procedures, drafting principles, design, and engineering skills
  • Extensive knowledge of municipal design standards for site plan and subdivision developments
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A valid Class G driver's licence
