Position: Accounts Manager

Based in British Columbia, as an Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business while managing existing accounts through face-to-face contact throughout North America. You should understand your customers’ business, craft unique solutions, and build broad preference for Powell products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the identification and development of sales prospects for Powell product portfolio.
  2. Generate new and repeat sales of company products and services.
  3. Maintain current client and potential client relationships.
  4. Deliver product presentations at customer sites, conferences, and exhibitions.
  5. Develop and execute sales strategies to focus efforts and drive sustainable growth.
  6. Prepare action plans and schedules to meet and exceed specific target opportunities.
  7. Assist in the implementation of company marketing plans and strategies as needed.
  8. Perform sales contract reviews and detailed equipment proposals.
  9. Help identify and resolve client concerns/complaints.
  10. Prepare and maintain sales reports, including activities, closings, follow-up, and goal adherence.
  11. Negotiate and respond to commercial and technical clarifications.
  12. Identify gaps in product/service offerings and provide feedback to Product Management.
  13. Generate a 12-month sales forecast for assigned product lines.
  14. Familiarize with NEC, ANSI, and IEC power distribution standards.
  15. Travel to clients as required, including overnight stays.
Additional Expectations:
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive company image.
  • Manage and guide Manufacturer Sales Representatives in your territory.
  • Follow company policies, work instructions, ISO policies, and safety regulations.
Core Competencies:
  • Knowledge of electrical products and applications.
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and schematics (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, computer, and planning skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply product knowledge and solutions.
  • Proficiency in delivering product presentations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of MV / LV Distribution Switchgear & MCC technology and market landscape.
Working Conditions:
  • Temperature-controlled environment with some outdoor activities.
  • Primarily office work with local and regional travel, including short notice and extended trips.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to maintain body equilibrium and agility.
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive movements, stand, walk, and speak for long periods.
  • Manual dexterity for typing and handling objects.
