Job Description

The Director, Marketing (HIV / AIDS) will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the HIV / AIDS strategic business plan, supporting the tactical execution and overall promotion/positioning for the HIV franchise, which includes both HIV Treatment and HIV Prevention. You will lead the development of the HIV / AIDS lifecycle plan and support the launch of new products/indications in the category. You will provide strong leadership skills with an ability to set a vision, lead change, drive results, and manage direct reports and the cross-functional therapeutic team. This position reports to the Senior Director, Marketing / Sales, HIV / AIDS.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead a cross-functional therapeutic team and senior marketing professionals, demonstrating excellent management skills in performance management, planning, prioritization, objective setting, recruitment, and plan execution.
  2. Use multiple sources of information (e.g., market research, advisory boards, competitive intelligence) to develop insights relevant to franchise strategy and tactical plans.
  3. Contribute to the formation of franchise strategy for HIV / AIDS and the overall Brand Plan and Promotional Plan for Action (POA).
  4. Develop tactical plans, messaging, communication strategies, and customer initiatives aligned with the field sales POA.
  5. Execute the field sales POA, including developing sales tools, coordinating sales training, executing sales meetings, and driving results.
  6. Communicate effectively, be a competent presenter, and influence all levels with strong partnering skills, a bias for action, and tangible results.
  7. Organize and follow through on assignments, demonstrating bias towards execution.
  8. Lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus among individuals from diverse cultures and disciplines.
  9. Maintain a strong executive presence to command respect through sound business judgment and clear decision-making.
  10. Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively, demonstrating excellence in project management.
  11. Perform complex budget management with an understanding of revenue forecasting.
  12. Develop external relationships leading to brand advocacy.
  13. Experience in Direct-to-Patient pharma/biotech marketing with understanding of expense budget planning and tracking.
  14. Translate brand objectives into e-tactical plans with in-depth understanding of digital media.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields required.
  • Advanced experience with product lifecycle management preferred.
  • Advanced science degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) or MBA desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge in pharmaceutical product lifecycle management across therapeutic areas preferred.
  • Prior people management experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in product marketing or advertising focused on consumers or patients.
  • Experience in e-Marketing and digital media.
