Job description

Fengate is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Infrastructure Funds finance team.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, Infrastructure Funds, the individual will be responsible for investor reporting, financial analysis and fund modelling, tax, treasury, compliance, and management of Fengate's infrastructure funds. This role will interact closely with the project and investments teams, the fund administrator, investor relations team, tax team, and external investors. The role offers the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of infrastructure private equity funds, with a focus on Fengate's closed-ended infrastructure funds.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has a strong commitment to deadlines and the team, is detail and process-oriented with a high sense of ownership in their work, and possesses a solid finance/accounting foundation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the fund's external administrator to ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting records and financial reporting.
  • Maintain fund models to forecast fund performance and manage liquidity needs, coordinating with the broader infrastructure team for key inputs.
  • Prepare quarterly investor and management reports and presentations.
  • Oversee capital activity (i.e., capital calls and distributions) and treasury functions; review notices and investor communications prepared by the fund's administrator.
  • Manage the fund's daily financial operations, ensuring compliance with governing fund documents and credit facilities.
  • Collaborate with the investor relations team to respond to investor requests and assist with fundraising initiatives.
  • Liaise with the tax team and advisors to oversee tax filings and compliance in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to support the infrastructure business unit and broader Fengate team (e.g., asset management, legal, investments).
  • Contribute ideas to develop best-in-class processes and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or relevant technical discipline with at least 3 years of experience.
  • CPA designation required.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in managing workload and professional development.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement in approaches and presentation.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; financial modelling experience is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines within a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
