Job description

Position Description

A temporary full-time (1.0) English Teacher is required by School District No. 60 (Peace River North) effective September 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. The assignment will be at North Peace Secondary School.

North Peace Secondary School (NPSS) is a vibrant, dynamic, and diverse school community with two campuses supporting 1200 students. The school emphasizes accountability, integrity, and respect, fostering a culture of safety, tolerance, acceptance, and inclusion. Qualifications and Experience
  • Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible)
  • Qualifications and ability to teach the identified secondary subjects
  • Experience with universal design and differentiation for diverse student needs
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and ability to foster a positive classroom community
  • Belief in inclusion and potential of all students to learn
  • Understanding of BC Curriculum and planning skills for diverse classes
  • Willingness to collaborate with staff to enhance student learning
  • Proactive classroom management practices that respect student dignity
  • Assessment practices that promote learning and dignity
  • Experience with SEL supports and assessment for learning (AFL) practices

  • Verification of qualifications (BC Teacher Certificate)
Compensation
  • $2000 relocation allowance for teachers from BC, AB, Yukon; up to $4000 from other areas
  • $3,035 recruitment allowance paid over 10 months, based on FTE
  • Salary range: $65,397 - $111,952 as per collective agreement
  • Benefits include medical, dental, extended health, and group life insurance, employer-paid based on FTE
