With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada's largest beef processors. The company operates four locations: the main processing facility in Brooks, Alberta; the Head Office and a case-ready plant in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario in Belleville, Ontario. The Brooks facility processes about 4,300 head of cattle daily, producing a range of products shipped across Canada and worldwide. The Calgary facility, Mountain Creek Farms, produces value-added products, and JBS Ontario supplies fresh meat and seafood to leading Canadian retailers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Plan and schedule manpower, materials, products, and machines to optimize efficiency while maintaining safety, quality, and employee satisfaction standards.
2. Collaborate with the Production Scheduler and Operations teams to ensure make sheet accuracy and meet product specifications for both domestic and international customers.
3. Manage employee performance, providing feedback and coaching.
4. Supervise hourly unionized employees for efficient facility operation.
5. Promote positive employee communication and involvement to foster goodwill.
6. Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving opportunities aligned with KPIs and business objectives.
7. Investigate quality issues, cost reduction, process improvements, and equipment maintenance, offering suggestions.
8. Maintain accurate records related to performance, quality, safety, and payroll.
9. Develop Standard Operating Procedures and train team members to ensure consistent, best-in-class processes.
10. Lead, develop, and recognize employees through effective training.
11. Ensure safety program compliance, maintaining an exemplary safety record and best practices in safety leadership.
12. Participate actively in the Continuous Improvement Program to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Qualifications and Competencies

1. 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience.
2. Effective communication skills for leadership, motivation, coaching, and conflict resolution.
3. Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. College Diploma or equivalent is an asset.
5. Flexibility to work shifts, including in cold and hot areas, in a fast-paced environment.
6. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
7. Knowledge of HACCP, Health & Safety, and GMP standards.
8. Experience in the food processing industry is required.
9. Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written; team-oriented attitude.
10. Criminal Record Check required.
