The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority seeks a Co-Head for the Section of Medical Oncology and Hematology. CO-HEAD, SECTION OF MEDICAL ONCOLOGY AND HEMATOLOGY
The Department of Internal Medicine, Section of Medical Oncology and Hematology, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady College of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, and Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology, CancerCare Manitoba, invite applications for the position of academic Co-Head for the Section of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine, University of Manitoba, and Co-Head, Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology, CancerCare Manitoba.
The Section of Hematology/Oncology is one of 17 sections in the Department of Internal Medicine, providing patient care, undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing education, and research.
This is a major academic position with substantial resources within the region, primarily at two academic health centers. There are presently 43 academic Hematologists and Medical Oncologists within the section, with major clinical and investigative responsibilities in all areas of cancer care and benign hematology.
The successful applicant will have proven leadership abilities, a record of continuing achievement in basic or applied research, and a demonstrated capacity to collaborate with related disciplines. The applicant must also have clinical and teaching skills to further the aims of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Hematology/Oncology. The role also involves fostering an outstanding Hematology/Oncology research environment by adding clinical research expertise and enhancing existing clinical programs.
This is a full-time, geographical, contingent position commencing November 2024 or as soon thereafter as possible, for a term of five years, renewable upon favorable review. Salary and rank will depend on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications: Candidates must have senior specialty qualifications in Medical Oncology in their country of practice and be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in Internal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is a strong asset.
