The Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA), under the authority of the Emergency Management Act, leads coordination and cooperation of all involved in emergencies and disasters, including prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.
AEMA is accountable to the Government of Alberta, Albertans, communities, and industry for protecting people, property, and the environment from emergency events. It manages a decentralized system for various emergency types, facilitating coordination, collaboration, and cooperation across entities involved in emergency activities.

Reporting to the Manager, Provincial Recovery Planning, the Provincial Recovery Coordinator enhances AEMA's recovery preparedness and operational support before and during large-scale responses. This involves supporting recovery operations training and exercises, developing recovery policies, and assisting with cabinet and Treasury Board submissions to initiate recovery programs.

Required: University degree in Public Administration, Emergency Management, Social Sciences, or equivalent. No experience required.
