Role Overview

Our client is looking for an Advanced Intermediate Architect to play a key role in the design and execution of large-scale mixed-use projects. This is an opportunity for a talented architect with 5–8 years of experience to take on greater leadership within a collaborative team. The ideal candidate has strong design and technical skills, experience navigating all project phases, and a deep understanding of local building codes and construction practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design & Technical Execution: Develop and refine design concepts, ensuring cohesion from schematic design to construction documentation.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with senior architects, consultants, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Construction Documentation: Produce and oversee high-quality drawing sets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with BCBC, VBBL, and zoning bylaws.
  • Construction Administration: Assist with RFIs, submittals, site reviews, and issuing site instructions during the construction phase.
  • Code & Building Knowledge: Apply strong knowledge of building codes, permitting, and detailing to support project delivery.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: Work within multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior staff and contributing to a positive, learning-focused environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • 5–8 years of professional experience, preferably on large-scale mixed-use, residential, or commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit (experience with AutoCAD, Rhino, or rendering software is an asset).
  • Strong construction knowledge, including detailing, materials, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and coordination abilities.
  • Experience with permit applications and code analysis (BCBC/VBBL).
