Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager is the first point of contact for prospective employers, providing consulting services including education presentations, estimated costing exercises, and promotion of HOOPP’s value. This position is responsible for executing growth, retention, and stakeholder initiatives for prospective employers and member opportunities.
What you will do:
Responsible for Business Development activity identifying and supporting prospective employers:
Identifies potential markets and evaluates opportunities for growth.
Evaluates assigned target markets for risk and potential barriers.
Forecasts sales projections for target markets.
Conducts sales calls/visits to prospective employers, including presentations and consultation sessions.
Tracks progress of identified leads and communicates status and trends.
Provides guidance to prospective employers on the HOOPP application process.
Supports external associations and prospective employers in their decision-making process.
Conducts business retention meetings as necessary.
Develops and sustains effective working relationships with internal partners.
Manage Internal Prospective Employer review and approval process:
Ensure prospective employers meet HOOPP’s eligibility criteria.
Ensure applications and support materials are in order for approval.
Manage the internal end-to-end process and address outstanding questions.
Communicate outcomes to prospective employers.
Educate prospective employers about HOOPP requirements.
Partner with Regional Managers for seamless transitions for approved employers.
Lead Prospective Member Initiatives:
Conduct presentations for prospective members, engaging Regional Managers as needed.
Collect information from employers to increase membership.
Evaluate current sales presentations and marketing collateral for relevance and accuracy.
What you bring:
5-7 years of work experience in a similar role.
College or University degree.
Industry accreditations preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
Self-motivated with consultative sales and marketing experience.
Expert knowledge of defined benefit pension plans.
Superior client service and relationship management skills.
Understanding of the Ontario Healthcare market/sector.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and professionalism.
Well-developed presentation skills.
Investigative and research skills, including sales projections.
