Qualifications

About the Role & Team

As part of the theScore team, you will collaborate with talented Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers committed to delivering top-tier apps. You will have the opportunity to contribute significantly, similar to a full-time role, gaining valuable experience in a dynamic environment.

Your responsibilities will include supporting and enhancing the Sportsbook Wagering team’s offerings, such as market support, bet placement, cash out, and bet settlement features. You will work closely with design, product, frontend, and backend teams to create an excellent mobile sports betting experience. Our focus on design and UX means turning complex problems into simple, beautiful interfaces. Since wagering features are high visibility and core to our business, there’s a big impact opportunity. We promote quick iteration, learning, growth, and having fun.

Typical Workday at theScore
  • Build end-to-end app features, individually or with other developers
  • Write clean, testable, and understandable code (our apps are fully covered by unit tests)
  • Collaborate in an Agile environment with product managers, designers, QA, and developers
  • Propose technical and functional improvements to stay innovative
  • Make a direct impact on the product
  • Address complex technical challenges
  • Perform other duties as needed
About You
  • 1+ years of Android development experience
  • Proficiency in Kotlin (our apps are 100% Kotlin)
  • Experience creating custom UI elements and engaging UX
  • Knowledge of AndroidX libraries
  • Experience with dependency injection frameworks (Koin, Dagger, Hilt)
  • Understanding of modern architectures (MVVM)
  • Knowledge of mobile network communication (okHttp, retrofit)
Nice to Haves
  • Experience with unit testing (JUnit)
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose
  • Experience with GraphQL (Apollo Android)
  • Experience with UI testing (Robolectric, Espresso)
  • Experience with mobile DevOps, CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, TravisCI)
  • Skills in profiling, troubleshooting, and optimizing app performance
  • Passion for sports and/or esports
