Salary range: $140,270 - $202,610
The Stress Analysis Engineering Manager is expected to be intimately involved in the day-to-day execution of engineering projects and deliverables and manage the performance of the engineering groups/disciplines assigned to him/her. Specifically:
- Maintaining appropriate NAT quality standards throughout the design, development, substantiation, installation and support phases of projects.
- Hire, train, mentor and evaluate engineers and supporting staff.
- Analyze market demand relative to available resources to train or hire personnel.
- Ensuring engineering projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Development, implementation and maintenance of Engineering procedures and work instructions.
- Check technical accuracy of work.
- Work with other engineering managers as a management team.
- Communicate company vision and objectives of engineering department.
- Maintain a skilled, productive, and motivated work force.
- Support marketing by developing Technical Proposals, kits lists, NRE, etc.
- Understand project SOW, budget and contractual requirements to identify out-of-scope items and provide the appropriate guidance to the engineers.
- Establish priorities based on company objectives and effectively communicate those priorities to employees.
- Define and track key performance indicators to assure team continued effectiveness.
- Understand and promote all health, safety and environmental legal and regulatory requirements including company policies and standards. Lead by example, enforce and sustain a strong-minded safety culture and compliance driven practices in the work environment.
Job Requirements
The Engineering Manager - Stress should possess the following:
- Four year technical degree.
- Twelve or more years of broad technical experience, with at least seven of those years being in the aerospace industry desired. Five or more years of aircraft stress analysis engineering, preferably the substantiation of installation for components and systems into retrofit applications of commercial aircraft.
- Firm understanding of commercial aircraft regulatory and airworthiness requirements.
- Ability to create test plans to meet regulatory requirements, evaluate test results and recommend design changes.
- Additional training in leadership, management, business administration, program management, and/or risk management preferred.
- Experienced in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Ansys (or equivalent).
