Job Description

The Junior High Teacher is responsible for teaching and supporting students within the South Shore Regional Centre for Education. The teacher will work within the Inclusive Education Policy framework, collaborating with school staff and families to develop individualized programs that maximize learning experiences for students.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Valid Nova Scotia Teacher Certification
  • Bachelor of Education - Secondary
  • Major or Minor in Science

  • Professional development in Science, Social Studies
  • Experience teaching Science and Social Studies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding records and documentation
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, electronic)
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with school and inter-agency teams for early intervention and program planning
  • Experience in culturally responsive pedagogy
  • Knowledge of developmental trauma and its impact on learning and social engagement
