The Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, and the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) invite applications for an Academic Physiatrist. This full-time role offers an academic appointment at the University of Toronto as a Clinician Teacher (CT) or Clinician in Quality and Innovation (CQI), at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, or Associate Professor. The position involves approximately 80% clinical duties and 20% teaching for CT, or 80% clinical and 20% in Quality and Innovation for CQI. The expected start date is July 1, 2025, or another mutually agreed date.
We seek a physician committed to excellence in PM&R, with an interest in Neuro Rehab care. Responsibilities include outpatient and inpatient PM&R care at Sunnybrook Bayview campus for Neuro rehab patients, including ALS and Stroke cases. Expertise in spasticity management and experience with multidisciplinary teams are assets. Proficiency in English is required.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic PM&R program with faculty at SHSC. Sunnybrook is a leader in trauma, emergency, brain sciences, heart and stroke, and musculoskeletal care. The Division of PM&R at the University of Toronto is robust, with over 80 faculty members and 20 residents across the Greater Toronto Area.
Applicants must hold an MD degree, be eligible for certification in PM&R by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and be eligible for medical licensure in Ontario.
Remuneration will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience. The candidate will be eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association, with access to clinical billings and benefits, including group medical, dental, and life insurance plans.
