Trust Fund Accountant

We are seeking a Trust Fund Accountant to join our McAteer team in Markham.

The Trust Fund Accountant is responsible for handling a small book of business of trust fund clients.

The Trust Fund Accountant will:

• Prepare journals and maintain up-to-date GL transactions;
• Reconcile all balance sheet and income statement accounts;
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements;
• Prepare government remittances;
• Monitor cash flow and prepare bank transfers to invest surplus funds;
• Prepare cash flow, investment, and other reports as required by clients;
• Prepare working papers and assist during annual audits;
• Evaluate and handle client-related inquiries;
• Handle day-to-day accounting duties for the clients.

To be successful as a Trust Fund Accountant with The McAteer Group of Companies, you will need:

• 3 or more years of working in an office environment with a focus on accounting;
• Experience with full-cycle accounting;
• College or University Diploma in business administration, with a focus on accounting;
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Office applications with intermediate to advanced level in MS Excel;
• Co-operative team player with strong math skills.

All-star candidates will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent;
• Working towards CPA certification is an asset;
• 3 years’ experience in a corporate accounting environment.
