What is the opportunity?

Lending Services within BCS includes three pillars working collaboratively to provide end-to-end service support to our Capital Markets and BFS business partners for lending products and supporting administrative agent responsibilities when mandated. The prime objective of the Manager is to provide strategic focus and management oversight over all operational aspects related to loan trading processing. Manages all aspects of administrative support functions for large or multiple offices or departments. The Manager also has HR responsibilities, typically managing and overseeing supervisors and/or hourly/professional staff, and setting the overall direction for employees.

The prime objective of the Manager, Fulfillment and Closing position is to lead and manage a team of operations professionals responsible for day-to-day loan servicing of syndicated and bilateral loans in primary and secondary markets, where RBC is either participant or agent or both.

What will you do?

  • Manage direct reports, overseeing performance management, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with other managers across pillars to ensure process consistency and knowledge sharing.
  • Keep Associate Directors and Senior Leaders informed of issues, escalating appropriately to ensure streamlined messaging and communication.
  • Work across pillars to provide excellent end-to-end servicing, including identifying operational risks and implementing controls.
  • Ensure team compliance with process controls, responsibilities, SOX, and key controls.
  • Respond to email inquiries and act as a point of escalation for the team, clients, or internal partners including Business, Credit, Finance, Treasury, etc.
  • Provide strategic oversight of all operational aspects related to loan processing and servicing, including managing new products, processes, and systems; identifying operational and reputational risks; and ensuring adherence to operating guidelines and controls.
  • Create and update operating guidelines as needed.
  • Provide relief for other managers during absences and support staff development, fostering continuous improvement and delivering best-in-class service.
  • Manage and develop personnel, promoting continuous improvement, upgrading skills, executing change initiatives, and maintaining focus on business priorities.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have’s

  • An undergraduate degree with a strong operational background (4+ years) and 3-5 years of related experience, with knowledge of lending/credit practices, syndication, loan documentation, lending products, and funding mechanisms in Canadian, US, UK/EU, and SY markets.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-have’s

  • 4-7 years in the financial industry.
  • 3-5 years front-line/middle-office experience in lending.
  • Leadership experience in a team environment.
  • Ability to lead a cohesive team balancing customer experience with operational and reputational risk management.
  • Proficiency with systems and applications like ACBS, CID, CCMS, etc., and adaptability to new technology.
