The Faculty aims to lead in Oral Health Research in Canada, aligning with Canada's National Oral Health Research Strategy (NORHS).
The Faculty seeks exceptional scholars to lead research in immunology and cell biology related to oral health and disease. Research interests include connective tissue disorders, genomic/epigenomic regulation of oral disease, development of novel anti-inflammatories, cellular therapy, and bioengineering approaches for oral tissue regeneration. Candidates must hold a PhD and postdoctoral training in a relevant field, with a solid understanding of oral and systemic immunology and cell physiology, and expertise in “-omics” approaches relevant to oral health research. The candidate will supervise undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral trainees, demonstrate recent research productivity, and have a record of grant or salary awards. Strong interpersonal skills and a collegial approach are essential, along with teaching experience in foundational and oral immunology and cell physiology.
The appointment will be full-time at UBC, with salary, rank, and status commensurate with qualifications. UBC values merit, equity, and diversity, encouraging applications from visible minorities, women, Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, and minority sexual orientations. Canadian citizens and permanent residents are prioritized. Review begins July 1st and continues until filled.
