Job Title: Engineer II, Structural
The Engineer II, Structural executes engineering tasks within allocated systems design in compliance with schedule and budget specifications. The Engineer II ensures integration of the systems into the ship and performance of the systems through ship delivery.
Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site at 2 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.
What you’ll do
- Execute allocated systems design in compliance with schedule and budget specifications.
- Ensure full and functional integration of the systems into the ship and validate the systems’ spatial integration into the model with all system data current and accurate.
- Ensure functional performance of the system from installation through to testing, sell-off, and ship delivery.
- Conduct material definition of assigned system and configure the material baseline through functional and production baselines.
- Coordinate with suppliers and supply chain to receive, approve, and integrate technical and commercial information supporting detail design and supply chain adherence to the schedule.
- Support Detail Design, Planning, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure the designed system is complete and functional on schedule for ship delivery.
- Assist production planning and execution with risk mitigation to support installation and build schedules.
- Ensure the quality of design products and compliance with specifications.
- Follow discipline-specific standards.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Naval Architecture; Master’s degree preferred.
- Engineer In Training (EIT) designation from a recognized, accredited institution.
- At least 2 years of progressive post-secondary experience in Engineering, preferably with knowledge of ship/maritime systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with diverse, integrated project teams is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills for data gathering, analysis, and synthesis.
- Technical writing skills for producing clear technical specifications, procedures, and reports.
- Proficiency with CADMATIC, ShipConstructor, AutoCAD, document control systems, and databases.
- Ability to work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to work semi-independently with oversight from experienced team members.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety policies and laws.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

The estimated salary range is $90,000 - $110,000, with final offers based on experience, skills, and internal equity, presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
