Job Description: Senior Job Cost Administrator

We are seeking top-tier talent for our Services division to work on projects in sectors including oil, gas, petrochemical, renewable energy, power, mining, forestry, underground, heavy construction, maintenance, turnarounds, and sustaining capital. Reporting to the Job Cost Administrator Lead, the Senior Job Cost Administrator will provide accounting and transactional support related to project time entry, LEMS, owner billings, and subcontract administration. The role requires executing tasks in accordance with company policies, project contractual terms, Union Agreements, and tax legislation. The Senior Job Cost Administrator works closely with the Cost Controls teams, fostering collaborative relationships and meeting internal client requirements.

This position is based in our Bonnyville Office and follows a Monday to Friday schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with transactional accounting processes and month-end procedures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using analytical skills to identify issues and implement solutions
  • Act as a primary contact for Operations Finance regarding job costing, time entry, and billing issues
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities through analysis and dialogue
  • Support specific cost initiatives as a finance business partner
  • Lead finance change projects to enhance systems, processes, and outputs related to cost management
  • Develop and maintain process flows for time entry, billing, and third-party invoice verification
  • Administer subtrade contracts in line with company policies
  • Ensure accurate and timely owner progress billings, including change orders, with proper documentation
  • Perform timekeeping entries and assist with LEMS reporting, ensuring compliance with union agreements and labor standards
  • Support accounts receivable, collections, and payment deposits as needed
  • Maintain awareness of company policies, project setup, and cost accounting at the project level
  • Follow documented accounting procedures for daily tasks
  • Understand project contract terms related to setup, billing, costing, tax, and labor standards
  • Demonstrate commitment to HSE and Quality behaviors reflecting corporate values
Qualifications and Experience:
  • High School Diploma required; Degree or Diploma in a related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting or project administration
  • Experience managing teams through situational leadership
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Basic understanding of accounting and job costing principles
  • Experience in construction, engineering, or heavy manufacturing industries is an asset
  • Accurate data entry skills
