Reporting under the Patient Care Manager of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women's Ambulatory Clinics - Women's Health Program, the Instructor EDM - Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for providing and facilitating education for staff within the Maternal Fetal Medicine department to ensure clinical competencies and organizational standards are maintained. The CNE applies adult learning principles to assess educational needs and plans, implements, and evaluates educational initiatives. They facilitate orientation, mandatory education, in-services, continuing education, and support updates in policies, procedures, protocols, and technology to promote staff competence.
As an Instructor, you will be a key educator and expert practitioner, leading the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing education, including orientation and ongoing professional development. You will collaborate with management and partners to uphold standards of clinical and evidence-informed practice, contributing to safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care aligned with AHS's shared vision and values.
Completion of an accredited nursing education program, active or eligible registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA), and current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
1-3 years recent acute care Women’s Health experience in an ambulatory setting; 3-5 years recent acute maternal-fetal complex care and management; 3-5 years recent Labor & Delivery experience in a tertiary setting. Knowledge of adult teaching principles, evidence-based practice, and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, organizational, and conflict management skills. Ability to assist patients with mobility and handle equipment as needed.
Fetal Health Surveillance certification, Connect Care experience in an ambulatory setting, Astraia experience, proficiency in MS Teams, email, Word, and Excel. Experience with early pregnancy loss is an asset.
