Job Summary

TMX Group is seeking an experienced C++ Software Developer to join our team, with a strong background in product development and in low latency trading systems. In this role, you will be a key member of an experienced multidisciplinary agile team composed of developers, testers, Business Analysts and Architects. You will be involved in the design and in the implementation of the low-latency trading platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable real-time and low-latency application
• Collaborate closely with the Product Owner, the Business analyst, the team leads, and Quality Assurance team members.
• Understand and challenge the requirements, design, and testing cycle
• Conduct and participate in code review and follow the enterprise code standards
• Implement Comprehensive testing strategies, including unit tests, component tests and integration tests, to ensure the quality, reliability and efficiency of the trading platform
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues, working closely with the other team members to identify and resolve problems quickly
• Provide 3rd level support if needed

Must haves:

• University degree in Information Technology or equivalent
• C++ programming language (Minimum of 10 years of practical experience)
• Python scripting language (Minimum of 5 years of practical experience)
• Strong experience in designing and developing real-time business applications
• Strong knowledge of low-latency technologies
• Strong knowledge of Linux OS and command lines
• Strong knowledge of the Unified Modeling Language (UML)
• Ability to work in a flexible environment and interest in continuous process improvement
• Sense of organization, persistence and ability to work with established plan and deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills and team player
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Good imagination and creativity in developing solutions
• Good analytical and effective problem solver
