Eligibility

This position is open to post-secondary students enrolled full time in a Canadian college or university. Applicants must be returning to school on a full-time basis for the next academic school year.

Hourly Rate

$18.60 per hour

Hours of Work: 7 hours per day, 5 days per week*

Site and Location

Board Office, Napanee

Incumbent is required to travel to various board locations, mileage is compensated.

Position Summary

The Construction Assistant will work closely with the Manager of Capital Projects to assist in the coordination and supervision of construction projects including attending site meetings, monitoring contractor inquiries and consultant responses.

Qualifications

  • Enrolment in a post-secondary (College or University) program in Engineering or Architecture – having completed a minimum of 1-year in the program
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of Engineering and Architecture
  • Proficient keyboarding, computer and word processing skills particularly in the Windows system environment using programs such as Microsoft applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to gather and compile data accurately and efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently with minimal supervision
  • A valid Ontario class G Driver's License and use of a personal vehicle for travel within the board's jurisdiction is required
