Managing global and multi-regional suppliers is essential for the success of Norton Rose Fulbright. The manager of vendor management & procurement will lead strategic sourcing and procurement with a total spend of approximately $150m, and growing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with regional leads to ensure consistent processes, policies, and tools.
- Driving innovation to align procurement functions with strategic priorities and market standards (e.g., ESG).
- Enhancing centralized procurement for speed, efficiency, and automation.
- Managing processes and data, including contract databases, benefits trackers, and governance frameworks.
- Working with C-suite to identify improvements, risks, and performance issues.
- Engaging with senior stakeholders across finance, legal, data protection, security, and IT to ensure standards compliance.
- Improving reporting capabilities.
- Participating in global and regional budgeting processes.
- Developing insights on strategic vendors to inform strategies.
- Managing relationships with strategic and transactional suppliers, monitoring performance, and providing holistic performance reports.
- Conducting supplier governance meetings to address issues.
- Managing budgets, authorizing and tracking spend, and ensuring financial control.
- Reviewing supplier invoices for accuracy and contract compliance.
- Driving supplier innovation, cost reduction, and performance improvements.
- Handling supplier commercial issues and negotiations to prevent escalation.
- Negotiating global and multi-regional contracts.
- Serving as the point of contact for client audit requests regarding third-party contracts.
- Managing a team responsible for maintaining supplier documentation, executing contract changes, and managing in-life contract modifications.
Qualifications and experience:
- At least 5 years managing multi-million dollar outsourced IT supplier relationships, preferably in legal or professional services.
- A degree in commercial management or procurement is advantageous.
- Strong relationship-building skills with partners and suppliers.
- Experience fostering collaborative environments and engaging executives in strategy and finance.
- Proven problem-solving, negotiation, and consensus-building skills.
- Commercial awareness and risk management experience.
- Knowledge of contract law and ITIL is preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working in a global environment with complex stakeholder management is preferred but not essential.
