Summary of day to day responsibilities:

The Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) Enterprise Testing Team (formerly Global Anti-Money Laundering) sits within the second line of defense and conducts design and operating effectiveness testing of AML/ATF, Sanctions, and ABAC controls (collectively referred to as “FCRM Controls”) within bank’s business lines, relevant operational and control units (including the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU)), and key FCRM technologies, Enterprise-wide (Canada, Europe, and Asia-Pacific).

The Senior FCRM Testing Analyst executes independent testing of FCRM controls for assigned technologies (Applications/tools, etc.) across the Enterprise which entails FCRM risks. This includes, but is not limited to, key FCRM technologies responsible for transaction monitoring, name screening, client risk rating, and reporting.

The position will assume leadership of part of the engagement and have responsibility for completion of end-to-end testing phases. The position will require developing testing scope, identifying key controls, creating test plans, identifying and testing attributes, and assessing if the controls are sufficient to address key AML risks. In addition, this position will be required to manage the end-to-end engagement and monitor progress of the engagement. As the overall engagement lead, the position will also oversee and may review the work of supporting analysts.

Key accountabilities include the following:

• Oversee and/or independently perform testing of AML/ATF controls for the technologies which are used by the Global AML FIU, High Risk Investigations, Sanctions Operations, and ABAC teams.
• Research and evaluate methodologies for analyzing risk exposures for assigned engagements.
• Recommend enhancements to policy/guidelines resulting from observations made during testing activities.
• Lead the communication and the reporting process with multiple stakeholders, including senior management.
• Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.
• Interact frequently with management and senior leadership of FCRM lines of businesses and technology stakeholders.
• Lead a team of Supporting Analysts throughout all phases of a testing engagement, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
• Undertake and complete a variety of projects and initiatives; may include the integration of cross-functional processes within own area of expertise.
• Prepare and present complex reporting, analysis, and assessments that will bring about significant improvements to internal processes and activities.
• Work independently as a subject matter expert of the functional area and applicable regulatory requirements (i.e., PCMLTFA), and may coach and educate others.
• Keep current on emerging trends and evolving regulatory requirements to find opportunities and recommend improvement areas to senior management to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
• Act as a specialized resource to provide subject matter expertise for planning, risk assessment, and execution of testing and monitoring activities and related AML technology processes with a high degree of complexity.

Must have:

• 6-8 years of experience with control testing as it relates to AML/ATF technology (SAS, Oracle, Pelican).
• General, high-level understanding of AML/ATF requirements (KYC/EDD) or similar regulatory requirements (PCMLTFA).
• Familiar with IT application control frameworks (such as ITIL / COBiT) and related IT and business processes and operations.
• Familiar with data manipulation technologies (SQL, SAS).
• Ability to read and understand (but not write) code.

Nice To Have:

• Prior banking/FI experience.
