Recovery Alberta is seeking a Social Worker Professional Clinical Practice Lead (SWIII) to support front line staff in Acute Adult Inpatient Units. This key leadership role involves coaching, mentoring, and ensuring culturally safe services, while fostering partnerships and leading quality improvement initiatives.

Recovery Alberta has an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker Professional Clinical Practice Lead (SWIII) who will support front line staff in the Acute Adult Inpatient Units at CCMHBI. Reporting to the Director of AIP, you will be in a key leadership role responsible for coaching, mentoring, and supervising social workers, ensuring services are provided in a culturally safe environment, and that all involved are treated with dignity and respect. You will foster networks and partnerships to establish standards of practice and achieve departmental goals. This position will lead the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of services in AIP and communicate clinical program issues and staff support needs with Unit Managers.
As a member of the AIP Social Work team, you will collaborate with social workers, allied health members, Unit Managers, Clinical Educators, front-line staff, and other department leaders to support excellence in patient and family-centered care. You will act as a key resource for staff and managers on evidence-based practices, professional standards, ethics, and legislative requirements. Additionally, this role involves leading quality improvement initiatives, evaluations, and knowledge translation activities based on patient, population, and service sector needs.
Description:
As a Social Worker III, your responsibilities include performing advanced assessments and treatments or acting as a clinical lead. You will work with teams to provide healthcare services for patients with complex medical, psychosocial, environmental, and instrumental needs. Your duties include providing advanced clinical services, consulting with interprofessional teams and families, supervising students and team members, and leading service planning, development, and delivery. You may also engage in staff development, quality improvement, evaluation, or research activities as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work
- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW)
Additional Qualifications:
- Full registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience
- Demonstrated professionalism, leadership, coaching, and mentorship skills
- Experience and knowledge of Adult Inpatient Psychiatry
- Authorization to perform Psychosocial interventions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to lead and guide teams
- Ability to build partnerships and foster relationships
- Effective communication skills for resolving complex issues
- Capacity to facilitate change in a healthcare environment.
