Description

Aston Carter's client in Langley is seeking an Administrative Assistant/Clerk to join their team. The Administrative Assistant will work independently and support various teams to ensure the accuracy of received/shipped products and documentation such as invoices.

Top 5 Repetitive Duties

  1. Double-check items completed by others.
  2. Ensure details on correspondence and documents match the system.
  3. Confirm accuracy of products in and out of the yard with the system.
  4. Load building for freight as required (training provided).
  5. Code invoices, matching them to clients and pricing codes.

Must Have

  • 1-2 years of experience in administrative functions (not limited to data entry).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel (basic formatting and formulas), Outlook, Teams.
  • Reliable transportation (no transit in area).

Soft Skills

  • Attention to detail; acts as the last line of defense for client and business documents.
  • Ability to work independently and across multifunctional teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; accents are acceptable.
  • Excellent listening skills; takes notes, follows directions, and does not require repetition.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards.
  • Background in logistics or building materials.

Work Environment

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 25-30 hours/week, flexible, moving to full-time as business increases.
  • Location: In-office, fully onsite in Langley, BC.
  • Transit: None.
  • Parking: Free.
  • Dress Code: Business casual, jeans on Fridays.

The Team

  • Admin Supervisor
  • Two other administrative staff
  • Total team size: 50-60 including office and shop floor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay rate is $21.15 per hour.
