A leading healthcare provider in Fort McMurray is seeking a Health Care Aide to join their multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will assist patients with daily living activities and support their health and wellbeing under the supervision of a regulated health professional. This position offers a competitive salary and an allowance for those working in Fort McMurray, ensuring you are well compensated for your vital contributions to patient care.
In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team providing personal assistance including supporting activities of daily living and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across home, community, or healthcare facilities, assisting nurses with routine care to meet hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs. You will also assist with organized activities or programs, observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing, and help maintain a safe environment under the supervision of a regulated health professional.
Minimum: $20.78 - Maximum: $26.03
Required: Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active enrollment on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory, with proof of enrollment. Nursing students enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program, having completed at least 100 practicum hours, and in their 1st year of practical nursing or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing/psychiatric nursing, will also be considered. Must provide proof of qualification and attest to compliance.
