Temporary Long Term (Fixed Term) / Full time

Job Location : Edmonton, Alberta

Reporting to the Team Lead, Corporate Wellness, the Wellness Representative works with the other Wellness Representatives and Disability Managers to educate employees and implement preventative and early intervention programs to reduce amount and length of illness and injury claims.

Your responsibilities :

  • Conducting ergonomic assessments both virtually and in person, making recommendations and following up with clients.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of the Injury Prevention Program.
  • Developing plans with employees using early intervention techniques / programs to assist in ongoing management of illness or injury.
  • Maintaining timely communication and documentation with customers.
  • Participating in the design, planning and implementation of formal and informal primary prevention programs, activities, events, trainings, and policies based on needs and data.
  • Assist in oversight of the Fitness center to ensure that all equipment is in safe working order and assess requests from staff for upgrades and addition of equipment.
  • Educating clients on the benefits of injury and illness prevention and early intervention.
  • Facilitate presentations for new employee orientation on ergonomics and injury prevention, implementing changes and updates as needed.

Your experience and skills :

  • Post-secondary education in Kinesiology or a therapist assistant program (physiotherapy assistant, OT assistant) or other related field and two years’ experience in the health and / or rehab industry or health promotion.
  • Experience or knowledge of office ergonomics or kinesiology would be beneficial.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety training regulations including standard first aid, AED and CPR is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work in accordance with employee and department needs.
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in communicating in a public setting and the ability to communicate and explain prevention and early intervention to stakeholders and demonstrate impact from primary prevention activities.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Equivalencies may be considered.

Salary : $51,649 to $57,402 per annum (Pay Grade 6)

This is a temporary, full-time position for approximately one year with the possibility of extension and / or permanency. Final candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a security clearance.
