GENERAL FUNCTION

The Student Optician provides exceptional value by delivering Signature Customer Experiences, ensuring customer satisfaction through our selling model. They develop optical skills and foster a learning environment for others.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide unparalleled customer service
2. Be proactive, solution-oriented, and knowledgeable about products
3. Assist customers with selections, provide recommendations, and educate on adjustment services
4. Be patient and courteous with indecisive customers, answering questions effectively
5. Serve as a leader in optical knowledge, representing associate expertise
6. Operate under the supervision of a Licensed Optician
7. Record measurements, adjust/fit eyewear to meet customer needs
8. Accurately operate the Point of Sale system, inputting customer and prescription data
9. Maintain store appearance and visual displays

Basic Qualifications

1. Currently enrolled in an Opticianry program
2. Experience in optical dispensing
3. Knowledge of optical theory and merchandise
4. Familiarity with store merchandise and inventory management systems
5. Strong communication and listening skills
6. Ability to use sales tools like IPAD/tablets
7. Comfort with technology for engaging customers and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications

1. Studying for LensCrafters Final Inspector Certification
2. Studying LensCrafters Quality, Fitting, and Adjusting Program
3. Previous experience in customer service and retail
