WHO WE ARE:
The Evergreens Foundation is a not-for-profit housing management body proudly supporting independent housing in Alberta. We aim to facilitate quality of life for all of our residents and tenants, through our senior and social housing facilities located in Hinton, Jasper, Edson, Grade Cache, and Evansburg.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Casual General Cook who will be reporting to Chef de Partie and would be responsible for:

• Assisting in the preparation of meals for our residents/seniors
• Preparation of main course items for each meal period, e.g., stocks, soups, sauces, meats, starches, vegetables, and proteins
• Following prepared menus such as special diets and ensuring a clean and safe working environment
• Preparation of salads and desserts along with serving meals to the residents in a professional manner

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR / QUALIFICATIONS

• 2 years of experience with volume food preparation and the ability to manage conflicting demands.
• Relevant education/equivalent experience with an ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
• Strong time management and communication skills along with an empathetic demeanor.
• Experience in senior housing, healthcare, and/or the hospitality industry would be an asset.

NOTE: The successful candidate must have a clear Vulnerable Sector Check. Hourly rate will be as per The International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955.
