Job description

The Kativik Regional Government (KRG), a supra-municipal body with jurisdiction over the territory north of the 55th parallel, is seeking a self-motivated and dynamic individual to join as an Information Technology Specialist (PERMANENT, FULL-time position).

Under the supervision of the Assistant-Director of the Information Technology section, the responsibilities include:

  1. Providing timely support to users requiring technical assistance with computers and related devices;
  2. Ensuring prompt response times for IT support;
  3. Maintaining and respecting KRG's IT standards across the IT infrastructure;
  4. Maintaining and administering IT assets such as computers, printers, copiers, fax, and phone systems;
  5. Providing first-level technical support to KRG employees;
  6. Managing user accounts (creation, deletion, modification, passwords);
  7. Maintaining hardware/software standards and inventories;
  8. Creating and updating support documentation;
  9. Assisting other departments with technical duties as needed;
  10. Performing any related tasks as assigned by the Assistant-Director.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma in computer technology or equivalent relevant work experience;
  • At least one (1) year of customer-oriented IT support experience;
  • Microsoft certification is an asset;
  • Good knowledge of Windows, Mac, Windows Server, DHCP/DNS, TCP/IP;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, MS Exchange, LAN/WAN support, VPN, and wireless technologies;
  • Customer-service-oriented personality (friendly, outgoing, patient);
  • Good communication skills, self-starter, reliable attendance;
  • Proficiency in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, French.

Place of employment: Kuujjuaq, Quebec

Salary: Min. $52,481 – Max. $89,256 annually
