Status: Full-time/Permanent

Reports to: Senior Director, CFL Player and Game Statistics

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Start Date: June 2025

Position Summary

The role is responsible for supporting the CFL’s statistical data collection and distribution process, including live game auditing, post-game review, liaison with on-site statisticians, data entry, production of game notes, and curation of new and existing historical archives. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, works well with others, and has a keen interest in sports and statistics.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Remote live game auditing as part of the CFL’s audit team.
  2. Data entry, including analytics reports and historical archives.
  3. Stats research for game notes, broadcast support, and media correspondence.
  4. Collecting and organizing media & club inquiries.
  5. Cultivating and maintaining CFL Stats ‘X’ social presence.
  6. Editing and producing part of CFL ‘Game Notes’ packages.
  7. Review and quality control of all weekly reports and CFL.ca stats/player bios.
  8. Editing and producing part of the CFL Guide & Record Book.
  9. In-person stats support at some Toronto and Hamilton home games.
  10. Production of training materials for statisticians & support at training seminars.

Qualifications & Skills

  1. Post secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Journalism, Broadcasting, or Sports Marketing preferred.
  2. Experience in sports broadcasting, journalism, or operations an asset.
  3. Attention to detail is vital.
  4. Interpersonal skills, including the ability to partake in debate or discussion respectfully, with an open mind.
  5. Sound editorial judgement.
  6. Ability to identify emerging trends or storylines using stats.
  7. Independent research skills.
  8. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  9. Works well under pressure, with the ability to tune out potential distractions.
  10. Ability to produce clean and accurate copy on a moment’s notice.
  11. Some knowledge of social media is an asset.

Other Considerations

  1. Hybrid Model: The incumbent will be required to attend the office at least two (2) days per week. In addition, you are required to attend meetings and other business events at the office or other venues as business needs dictate.
  2. Work Schedule: Due to the nature of the business, the incumbent must be available and willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
  3. Travel: Some travel may be required.
