Consultant Opportunity : Red Seal Journeyperson – Carpentry Program Evaluator (BC-Based)

Location : Remote (BC-based preferred)

Project Length : Evaluation of 4 program levels (Foundations to Level 4)

Compensation : Competitive consultant rate, negotiable based on experience

The Opportunity :

We are seeking a Red Seal Certified Journeyperson Carpenter to serve as an independent Program Evaluator for a private post-secondary Carpentry apprenticeship program in British Columbia. This is a one-time contract role ideal for experienced trades professionals with a passion for education, training standards, and Red Seal excellence.

Qualifications :

  • Red Seal Certification in Carpentry (mandatory)
  • Journeyperson status with a minimum of 5 years industry experience
  • Prior experience in curriculum review, training delivery, or educational consulting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of SkilledTradesBC, Red Seal occupational standards, and BC's trades training system
  • Excellent written communication and attention to regulatory detail

Key Responsibilities :

  • Evaluate the effectiveness and quality of the Carpentry Trade Program
  • Develop and implement assessment tools to measure program outcomes
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for program improvement
  • Collaborate with curriculum developers to ensure program standards are met
  • Monitor student progress and success rates
