Behavioral Health Outreach Specialist
The primary role of the Outreach Specialist is to build relationships, provide information, educate, and engage community members in programs, services, or initiatives.
- Distribute Naloxone to community residents, organizations, and businesses.
- Conduct Peer-to-Peer Naloxone training.
- Conduct Narcan training for community organizations and residents.
- Conduct street outreach to distribute naloxone surveys.
- Attend and participate in community outreach activities and efforts.
- Build relationships and establish partnerships with community groups, stakeholders, and leaders.
- Attend bi-weekly and occasional monthly team meetings with the Program Manager.
- Organize and attend community meetings, fairs, and other relevant gatherings to promote awareness and participation.
- Serve as a liaison between organizations and the community.
- Disseminate information about DHD Behavioral Health and other DHD programs.
- Collaborate with partners to leverage resources, share information, and coordinate efforts to meet community needs effectively.
- Provide information and referrals to community residents seeking assistance and support.
- Connect residents with appropriate resources, services, or programs available within the community.
- Advocate and support residents in navigating systems, accessing services, and addressing barriers.
- Prepare reports summarizing outreach activities, outcomes, and recommendations for future initiatives.
- Perform other duties as required by the Program Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, education, psychology, guidance and counseling, or a related field.
- One (1) year of recent supervisory experience, preferably in social, economic, or community development programs.
- Three (3) years of experience in case work, group work, counseling, social research, or community/public relations.
