Salary range: $44,897.17 to $52,720.85 annually

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business, Marketing or a related field.

  • You have a minimum of three years' experience (full-time equivalent) in retail purchasing, merchandising and/or product management, preferably in relevant product categories such as apparel, stationery and gifts (an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered).

  • Demonstrated understanding of the higher education retail business, including creativity in buying, managing inventory, and implementing e-commerce strategies to meet the expectations of customers in this unique environment.

  • Proven success in product management, purchasing, merchandising and leadership.

  • Occupational experience that includes post-secondary bookstore experience, and/or marketing experience would be considered an asset.

  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, Point of Sale systems, and eCommerce.

  • Experience with Inventory Management Software would be considered an asset.

  • Experience with analysis (e.g. Microsoft Excel or Inventory management reporting) would be considered an asset.

  • Experience with Canva or equivalent software would be considered an asset.

  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Bookstore Manager, you will be responsible for supporting them in coordinating general merchandise buying, sales, and inventory, including marketing, in person and e-commerce sales for the pan-provincial campus bookstores. You will also be engaged in bookstore operations, assisting the administrative assistants at metro campuses during peak times of the year with customer service, general upkeep of the store, as well as prepping for and aiding in semester rushes.
